I made this card for my friend's 70th birthday, which is today. I used Dorothy Margaret designs, stitching each layer out separately on organza and two sheets of water soluble stabiliser. I used Sulky Rayon thread, as I cut the embroideries out with my heat tool. After washing out the stabiliser, I painted the middle and top layers with iridescent liquid and sprinkled a little pearlised fine glitter over. After leaving them to dry, I put the layers together on pale blue silk Dupion and attached the whole to a 5"x7" aperture card. I wanted the flower to stand proud of the card and extend over the edges of the aperture. I used the iridescent fluid and glitter to tone down and blend the colours a little. I used yellows and golds rather than the original colours, as my friend has been rather down lately, due to a bereavement and I wanted the card to look cheerful
